The new preview update brings in several technical fixes that would make gameplay smoother.
Minecraft was not ready to let go of May without releasing a new preview update. Minecraft’s May 2025 preview update has been rolled out on multiple devices including PC, PlayStation, Xbox and iOS platforms. The complete update will release in some time. The new Minecraft preview update introduces a plethora of bug fixes and adjustments. All this has been done by taking into account feedback one received from multiple Vibrant Visuals preview update.
Along with graphical upgrades, the Vibrant Visuals series of upgrades bring in water caustics, volumetric lightning and pixel-aligned shadows. It also alters the biomes and environments significantly. These changes, one must mention, were being requested by players for a long time now.

Apart from being happy about Vibrant Visuals being compatible with older worlds, players should be appreciative of the fact that several enhancements have been brought to provide them with a more immersive experience. Some of these enhancements include color grading and fog density that are specific to the biome. While fans were not too happy with the way Vibrant Visuals was rolled out, one must acknowledge the fact that the preview updates have managed to resolve some of the pertinent issues revolving around effects and rendering.
On May 27, Mojang launched Minecraft preview and beta update 1.21.90.27 by bringing in several important alterations and additions to the game. One of the things that should delight the players immensely is the introduction of bug fixes for features related to Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals.
The preview build is now accessible on PlayStation, Xbox, Windows and iOS platforms. The beta build, on the other hand, is available on Android. Graphical bug fixes have been brought in for ambient lighting levels in the Nether and fog settings in warm and humid biomes. The Android version had some black screen issues, which have now been fixed. Earlier, one would see Vibrant Visuals being tinted green on Android devices. That issue has now been sorted out.
Players had earlier stumbled upon an issue that was resulting in items in hand not animating properly. This issue does not exist anymore. A bunch of different mob types in Minecraft, including Ghastling and Happy Ghast, have been tweaked and upgraded suitably.

While the speed of Ghastling has now been considerably reduced, the player detection area of Happy Ghast is now encompassed in a single box. Earlier, Happy Ghast would jitter when a player was found to be on the edge of the detection area. Players would not witness this anymore.
As was the case with the experimental Minecraft update rolled out a while back, the new preview update has brought in some technical fixes. Some of the issues that players had been dealing with for a while are yet to be fixed. However, one has the opportunity to go to the official feedback website and bugs page of the game and share their observations and report about the issues in the game.
