Minecraft: Trail Ruins Feature From Recent Updates Fails To Impress Fans

Gamers feel the Trail Ruins structure does not add much value to the game.

Mojang, in the last couple of years, has added a plethora of features to the Overworld realm in Minecraft in the form of biomes, structures, blocks, mobs and items. While a few of the features grabbed the attention of fans instantly, there were some that did not cut the ice with them. The Trail Ruins structure is one of those features that failed to leave a mark.

Many fans have pointed out that the Trail Ruins structure has been one of the most underwhelming aspects of the Minecraft updates.

As a part of the Trails and Tales update 1.20, Mojang added Trail Ruins. A structure of this kind tends to be generated only in heavy forest biomes like Jungle, Taiga, Old Growth and Birch Forest variants of forests.

When one tries to dissect the reason behind the new structure getting an underwhelming response, several theories come to the forefront. One of the reasons is the fact that the new structure was buried under the ground. Because of this, players did not have the opportunity to have a proper look at the structure.

Since the Trail Ruins is only generated underground, one finds it a little difficult to trace it in Minecraft. Players are required to find their way through a plethora of forest biomes in order to spot the distinctive blocks coming out of the ground. Since the process of spotting Trail Ruins is a little difficult and one does not get to see the structure in its entirety, fans find this feature to be a little underwhelming.

Players also lacked the interest to trace Trail Ruins because of the loot. In the buried structure, Mojang did not include any hidden chests. It, instead, introduced gamers to new suspicious gravel and sand blocks that could be brushed to unearth the loot inside them.

One can randomly find suspicious gravel in Trail Ruins. To reveal items, all one needs to do is brush it. What turns out to be disappointing is that the items one comes across are not very interesting. Many players find Trail Ruins uninspiring owing to the underwhelming loot tables.
