Two new Nokia devices with model numbers TA-1114 and TA-1139 have been approved by Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The TA-1114 Nokia phone was recently spotted on the website of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The Nokia TA-1139 smartphone has been spotted for the first time.
At the beginning of this month, the TA-1114 was spotted with TA-1117 (Nokia X7), TA-1132 and TA-1146 Nokia phones on MIIT. At that time, it was speculated that the TA-1114 could be the next Nokia feature phone from HMD Global. Apart from these phones, the Nokia TA-1119 model was also seen at EEC recently.
In the recent past, Nokia has relaunched older Nokia phone such as Nokia 8110, Nokia 3310 and Nokia 105 with new features like color screen and 4G VoLTE support. HMD Global’s Ajay Mehta who is the Vice President for India division has recently confirmed that the company is planning to expand its feature phone offerings. He also revealed that the a new 4G feature phone will be arriving with an affordable price tag.
According to a recent Digitimes Research report, the immense popularity of Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 feature phones from Indian telecom service provider Reliance Jio has allowed its Jio Phone brand to rank as the 10th largest phone brand in the world. Since India is thriving market for feature phones, HMD Global will want to make the most of it since it is the only mainstream brand that is committed towards launching feature phones.
