There were talks in the past about OnePlus working on a compact smartphone that a tipster claimed would have the moniker OnePlus Ace 5 Mini.
The same tipster has now shared the processor, display, and camera details of the OnePlus Ace 5 Mini handset.
Expected OnePlus Ace 5 Mini Details
Going by the Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, the smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm. There is no mention of the RAM and storage options supported.
The handset will encompass a flat custom-made OLED display with a size of 6.3 inches and a resolution of 1.5K.
For the camera lens, the Ace 5 Mini will feature a small horizontal matrix design. This is similar to the design adopted for the camera lens in the Pixel lineup. As for the primary snapper on the rear, the smartphone will incorporate an IMX906 sensor with a resolution of 50 MP. The tipster makes it explicit that the handset will not have any periscope lens while there is scope for a telephoto lens.

The leak also hints that the manufacturer is testing a short-focus fingerprint sensor on its engineering prototype model. He goes on to add that it would not be uncomfortable to use such a sensor on a smartphone with a screen of a small size. OnePlus is contemplating the incorporation of ultrasonic single-point fingerprint technology
The OnePlus Ace 5 is likely to be an add-on to the current OnePlus Ace 5 lineup comprising the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro that will be launched later this month in the home market. The Ace 5 is slated to be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for the global market. The launch details of the OnePlus Ace 5 Mini are yet to be known just like its availability outside China.
