Some of the other factors that have contributed to the popularity of the game are high-quality graphics, engaging storytelling and an immersive audio-visual experience.

A particular Redditor stated that there is a link between GTA Online’s success and the degradation of the Mexico expansion. The Redditor said that the Mexico map, perhaps, was reserved for RD Online DLC that never came to an end owing to the fact that kids found GTA Online with laser bikes to be much more interesting.

A theory put forward by user Howard_Stevenson tries to decode what happened to the content.

According to the user, the entire map from the first Red Dead Redemption game was used as a reference. Then, the existing layout was remade with better assets for Red Dead Redemption 2. As per the user, all the Mexico-related props and important objects were removed in one click.

Red Dead Redemption 2, no doubt, has emerged as a huge game. However, fans had more expectations as far as the DLCs were concerned. Rockstar Games, after all, has been that one gaming studio that has had a reputation for rolling out highly impressive DLCs.

Another Redditor said that they could never understand the reason behind Rockstar deciding to channel all its energies towards developing GTA 6 and upgrading GTA 5 when they had to put in just a little more effort to polish RDR 2. Half of the assets of the game, as the user pointed out, weer already put together and only some side quests and TLC were required to be added.

Some fans came up with responses to the Redditor’s queries. According to them, Rockstar, perhaps, did not have enough time to work further on RDR 2. Owing to the timelines involved in GTA 6, it had to prioritize it after a point in time.
