Among the various offerings by Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi have to offer, the Redmi K80 Ultra and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro are two smartphones in the pipeline.
A new leak has now emerged about the fingerprint sensor in the two handsets.
Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor
According to the post by the noteworthy tipster Smart Pikachu, the Redmi K80 Ultra and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro are likely to house an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The manufacturer is slated to be testing the support for this sensor on the two smartphones.
It is only safe to assume that the K80 Ultra will be equipped with such a sensor since the other two handsets in the lineup, the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro, have the same sensor.
Redmi K80 Ultra Expected Specifications
The smartphone is speculated to come with an AMOLED 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

Under the hood, the Redmi K80 Ultra is anticipated to be equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset along with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The handset is likely to draw its juice from a 5580 mAh battery with support for 120 W fast charging.
The smartphone is expected to have three 50 MP cameras on its back panel and a 50 MP snapper on the front.
Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro Expected Specifications
The smartphone will be the top-end variant of the Civi 5 series with the Xiaomi Civi 5 as the base variant. It is anticipated to sport an AMOLED 6.55-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 1236 x 2750 resolution.
The Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro is expected to feature 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage along with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. The handset will be powered by a 4,700 mAh with 67 W fast charging support.

The smartphone will have wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto cameras with a resolution of 50 MP for each shooter. There will be two 50 MP snappers on the front.
The Redmi K80 Ultra and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro are expected to go off-air next year. While the Redmi handset will mostly be launched in June, the Xiaomi smartphone will likely see an earlier launch in March.
