Rockstar Games Decides To Back GTA V Legacy Edition After PC Update

GTA 5 Legacy Edition

This comes as a piece of good news for those who had been playing the game on old hardware.

On February 20, Rockstar Games announced a free GTA V update for PC which left the gaming community surprised. This patch has been designed to add all the features that are only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions at the moment.

After this announcement came through, one could see ‘GTA V legacy’ on the launcher. This, in a way, implies that the PC version of GTA V is now the same as the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions.

While this created a lot of happiness among PC users, it also raised a concern. Many fans wondered whether this legacy edition would continue to receive support from Rockstar Games in the future or not.

Through a recently published newswire, Rockstar has confirmed that the legacy edition of GTA V will continue to be supported by the developers.

Through an officially released statement, Rockstar stated that it will continue to support the legacy edition of GTA V. By doing so, Rockstar has ensured that anybody whose hardware is a little old and does not have the minimum requirements needed for the new upgrade will also get the chance to play the game. What this also means that FiveM will continue to be supported.

A large number of GTA fans continue to use old hardware and have not upgraded to the latest ones. While such fans, too, welcome the updates rolled out by the studio, they would not want to lose out on the opportunity to play the game themselves. By taking this step, Rockstar has ensured gamers using old hardware do not face any issues.

PC gamers need to remember an important thing here. If they wish to play the game on PC with friends, each of them would have to play the same version. Rockstar has announced that if somebody purchases the PC version after the roll-out of this update, they will have access to both versions.
