Samsung is actively working on its affordable Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G along with its other high-end S series smartphones and tablets.
Samsung Galaxy A16 will be the first smartphone from the manufacturer in the A series to receive Android OS updates for six years and will come with Android 14 preinstalled.
With the official launch of the two handsets around the corner, some specifications have been leaked in detail. The specifications are essentially the same, save the 5G connectivity support, microSD card support, and the processor used. The Galaxy A16 will support 4G LTE connectivity while, as the name indicates, the Galaxy A16 5G will offer 5G connectivity support.
Additionally, the 5G variant has just been spotted on Malaysia’s SIRIM certification platform with the model number SM-A166P/DS. The smartphone has been listed earlier on other platforms as well.
Processor, RAM, and Memory Card
Based on the recent leak, the two handsets will feature 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. While the LTE model will support only one processor option, the 5G variant will come with two processor options.

The Galaxy A16 will be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor under its hood. On the other hand, for some regions, the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone will house an Exynos 1330 processor while in India and some other countries, it will support a MediaTek Dimensity 6300+ chip.
The A16 will be compatible with up to 1.5 TB microSD cards while the A16 5G works with up to 1 TB microSD cards.
Galaxy A16 and A16 5G Camera Setup
The two smartphones will have a triple-camera setup on their rear. These cameras will be a 50 MP main shooter, a 2 MP macro shooter, and a 5 MP ultra-wide camera. They will also feature a 13 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Display Details
The Galaxy A16 and A16 5G will have large Super AMOLED displays of 6.7 inches in size. These displays will depict a refresh rate of 90 Hz and Full HD+ resolution.
Battery and Rating
Both smartphones will be powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging support. They will have an IP 54 rating for water and dust resistance.
According to earlier reports, the Galaxy A16 will have a €209.90 price tag in Europe whereas the Galaxy A16 5G will be priced at €239.90.
