Samsung is working on the Samsung Galaxy M16 5G as its next M-series budget offering.
Even as details of the smartphone are limited for now, the handset has recently been listed on the Geekbench database. Earlier the Samsung Galaxy M16 5G smartphone was noticed on the Wi-Fi Alliance platform with a mention of its marketing name, thereby confirming its support for dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity.
Geekbench Listings
The Geekbench listing does not mention the name of the smartphone and references the Galaxy M16 5G using only its model number SM-M166P.
The listing indicates that the handset has a score of 552 points in the single-core test and a score of 1611 points in the multi-core test.

The Samsung Galaxy M16 5G will be equipped with an octa-core processor that could be a MediaTek Dimensity chipset with a set of two cores clocking at 2.40 GHz and a set of six cores with a clocking frequency of 2 GHz. According to the source code, it will also house a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU under the hood. Additionally, the handset will come with 8 GB RAM and Android 14 OS installed out of the box.
The M16 5G has also been listed on the Geekbench ML database with a score of 469 points for its AI performance.
Samsung Galaxy M16 5G Specifications
As the M15 5G hardware was heavily influenced by the Galaxy A15 5G, the M16 5G is reported to imbibe most of its specifications, save the battery, from the Galaxy A16 5G.
If the above speculation is true, the smartphone may come with a FHD+ Super AMOLED 6.7-inch display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Although the Geekbench listing mentions only one RAM option, there could be more choices at launch.

In the camera department, the handset may sport a front camera with a 13 MP resolution and a three-camera setup on its rear with resolutions of 50 MP, 5MP, and 2 MP. It is likely to be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25 W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy M15 5G launch is expected to be around the corner and may take place in April next year.
