Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung is actively working on its Galaxy S25 lineup of flagships comprising the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra smartphones for the upcoming year.

There has been a lot of debate about the processor that would be used in these smartphones. While it was claimed initially that the series would use the manufacturer’s Exynos 2500 chipset, later reports suggested otherwise and stated that all three handsets would house the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm under their hoods.

A new listing has now appeared on the Geekbench database indicating the Galaxy S25+ will feature the Exynos processor as mentioned the first time. Another listing on the same platform shows the Galaxy S25 Ultra for the second time with revised scores.

The listing does not mention the name of the processor. However, it mentions the model number that is associated with the Exynos 2500 SoC. The listing also mentions that the smartphone will run on Android 15. It is expected to be equipped with 12 GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has also been spotted on the database for the second time with the model number SM-S938U. The handset will be equipped with the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and depicts a single-core score of 3148 and a multi-core score of 10236.  This is an improvement over the earlier scores of 3,096 and 9,080.

Exynos 2500 Processor Specifications

The Exynos 2500 processor is a 3 nm 10-core chipset organized in four clusters designed using the second-generation 3 nm processor by Samsung Foundry. The ten cores include five high-performance cores clocking at 2.75 GHz and 2.36 GHz as well as two power-efficient cores with a clocking frequency of 2.36 GHz.

The chip is integrated with an Xclipse 950 GPU that deploys the RDNA architecture of AMD. The GPU offers support for Vulkan 1.3 with various interesting features that contribute to an improvised graphics performance.

Although the Exynos processor seems to be way behind the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processors in terms of single-core performance, this is just a preliminary internal test yielding a benchmark result.
