A leak has emerged about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra even before the manufacturer has launched its Galaxy S25 lineup.
This is not the first time there have been tipoffs about the Galaxy S26 series. The latest leak is about the periscope telephoto camera in the upcoming smartphone.
200 MP Periscope Telephoto Lens
The post by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo does not mention the name of the handset. However, it is very likely to be the Galaxy S26 Ultra or S26 Note. According to the leak, the brand is working on making improvements to the periscope telephoto camera. This camera is expected to have a 1/1.5-inch sensor with a resolution of 200 MP.

For reference, the present Galaxy S24 Ultra and the forthcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra have a 50 MP periscope camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera.
Although the leak mentions that Samsung has commenced its evaluation of including the above-mentioned sensor, it is not a sign of confirmation that the manufacturer will indeed opt for this camera when the smartphone is finally available.
The leak also mentions another interesting bit of information three flagship smartphones that will be released this year will feature a telephoto lens with a 200 MP resolution.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is also said to incorporate the Color-filter-on-thin-film technology that is for now available only on the Z Fold 3, Fold 4, Fold 5, and Fold 6.
The brand is also said to be opting for a name change for its Ultra and Plus models by knocking off the Ultra and Plus monikers and using the Note and Pro names instead. If so, we can expect the handsets to be called Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro.
