The Elder Scrolls VI: Fans Aren’t Pleased With The Massive Gap Between The ES6 Game and Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls VI

Fans are getting anxious over Bethesda refusing to share any update about the development cycle or release date of The Elder Scrolls VI.

Back in the year 2018, Bethesda Game Studios confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI is in the works. While the game was in the pre-development stage then, the confirmation by Bethesda made fans extremely excited and they started looking forward to all the wonderful things it will offer. The Elder Scrolls: Arena, the first game in the Elder Scrolls series, was launched in 1994 and since then, the franchise has seen great success coming its way. Since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came out in 2011, fans have been longing to see a new game released as a part of the franchise.

It has been six years since Bethesda confirmed The Elder Scrolls VI and one has not received any significant info about its development. Given the fact that the last Elder Scrolls came out in 2011, fans are getting increasingly anxious about the release date of the next game in the franchise and wondering when they will get to witness it. While there was a lot of excitement in the gaming community when the announcement came through, all this wait has now led to fans getting anxious and frustrated.

While one is not sure as to why Bethesda decided to remain quiet on the game after making a formal announcement about it in 2018, one of the reasons could be it getting busy with the development process of games like Starfield.

Now, Starfield has been successfully launched and fans want Bethesda to share some update about the game. The kind of emotions fans are going through right now can be gauged by some posts on Reddit and other platforms. Recently, a Redditor, on r/ElderScrolls, stated that they miss those times when “games didn’t take a literal human generation between releases.”

They also shared a screenshot that showed the gap between the releases of The Elder Scrolls: Arena (1994) and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006). As seen in the infographic, the maximum gap between the release of two Elder Scrolls games was 6 years. It has been 13 years since the last Elder Scrolls game came out and one does not know how long one will have to wait to see The Elder Scrolls VI getting released. Many players, who were in their childhood when The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim came out, have now stepped into their adulthood.
