Fans wish for the older titles in the franchise to be revived and made available for them again.
Fans of The Sims are looking forward to the 25th anniversary of the gaming franchise. While publisher Electronic Arts and developer Maxis must have a lot of exciting plans up its sleeve for the big day, fans have their own share of requests as well. A large section of fans wants Electronic Arts to revive two classic Sims game to mark the anniversary.

When a gaming franchise has been around for more than two decades, you can be sure about the fact that it has received a lot of love from the fans. The Sims 4, which is the last game to have been released as a part of the franchise, has completed a decade of its existence. While fans continue to have a strong association with the older games in the franchise, one cannot deny the fact that playing them is not as very or accessible now. Because of this, fans want Maxis and Electronic Arts to work towards reviving them.
A Reddit user, who identifies themselves as dragonborndnd, visited the Sims community and said that it would be exciting to see The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 making a comeback during the 25th anniversary of the franchise. The user even shared images featuring the entire collections of The Sims 1 and 2 featuring all the content and expansion packs designed for the titles.

These games have not been made available digitally by Maxis and getting one’s hands on their physical copies, too, is tough. Even if one gets access to the physical copies, it would be difficult to run them as most PCs and laptops do not feature a disc drive these days. In the near future, it will be even more difficult to get access to the older games in the franchise.

While most fans want the older games to be revived, they are well-aware of the fact that there is a slim chance of that happening. Some fans brought one’s attention to the fact that The Sims 2 was made available for free via Origin for a while. However, it was taken down after some time and was not made available again.
