A new community challenge has led The Sims 4 players towards creating realistic replicas of a hideous house.
As a community, The Sims 4 players are dealing with a fresh challenge. They have been given the task of putting together an in-game replica of an ugly-looking real-life house. Several fans have taken up this community-led challenge to put their building skills to test.
Though The Sims 4 was launched way back in 2014, it is a game that has continued to get stronger with time. In 2024, the game added millions of new players to their folds. Throughout its lifetime, The Sims 4 has managed to attract more than 80 million players. In the near future, one can expect several more players to discover the game.
The aforementioned challenge is getting more and more popular with time. One can see a lot of discussions happening around it on the The Sims 4 subreddit. A player, who identifies themselves as Rhiannon1307, uploaded a picture of a ramshackle real-life house and put forward a dare for other players to construct the ‘ugly house’ in the game.

For a long time, the game has maintained its reputation as one of the most exciting architecture games to exist. Challenges revolving around architecture, therefore, get a lot of attention. A large number of players took up this challenge and promptly submitted cursed replicas.

The aforementioned real-life picture, which was shared by Rhiannon1307, features the rear view of a spacious three-four house which gives the impression of multiple houses being merged together. The house comprises multiple windows. When one looks at it, one feels different rooms were added to it with time and this was done without a sense of coherence and adhering to the principles of architecture.

In the Reddit thread, many players, in a lighter vein, stated that the house comes across as a real-life interpretation of The Sims 4 gameplay. In the gameplay, players get the opportunity to add new rooms and extensions based on their requirements. While doing so, they do not follow any particular blueprint or style.
Players, who took up the challenge, did several interesting things with it. While somebody made an attempt to replicate the ‘cursed’ house seen in the Free Build mode of The Sims 4, another player put together a house filled with stains, yard debris, and other blemishes. This challenge definitely implored players to bring their creativity to the fore.
