In the coming months, several new updates, including an update for PlantSims, could be launched.
Just before The Sims 4 is about to receive a new DLC, the game gets a major base game update. This has been a long-standing tradition with the social simulation video game. This month, fans were looking forward to an update that would feature some important upgrades along with expansions to the ghost occult type. The latest expansion pack in the game revolves around the theme of afterlife. One had quite expected this to happen as ghosts happen to be one of the two occult-type species that have been featured in The Sims 4 base game. This newest The Sims 4 update For ghosts, therefore, could alter the prospects of occult types found in the game.
Many of the base game updates work towards establishing ghosts as an occult type similar to vampires, mermaids and werewolves. One now has the opportunity to create ghosts in Create-a-Sim (CAS). Upon death, players have the option of making a Sim a “Freeroaming Ghost” or a “Playable Ghost”. Some of the other expansions like a power-building skill tree feature in the new ‘Life & Death’ Expansion Pack. Since most occult types are not a part of the Sims 4 base game, this particular decision makes a lot of sense

While players were expecting such base game updates to come through, what has truly surprised them is The Sims 4 update for ghosts being rolled out to DLC packs. Simmers now have the option of choosing between a Sims gravestone and urn when death knocks at their door. For occult type species, new graves and urns have now been included in packs. The ‘Island Living’ expansion pack now features urns and gravestones for mermaids. Those who have access to the Horse Ranch or Cats & Dogs expansion have also received a pleasant surprise. Horses, cats and dogs can now be ghosts and roam the afterlife.
Since death has been one of the recurring themes in The Sims 4, one should not be surprised to see a pack revolving around the theme of life and death. These updates, in a lot of ways, have paved the way for a variety of other occult species in the game to be updated.
When one compiles a list of the most popular occult species in The Sims 4, PlantSims would not be a part of it. A lot of niche gameplay is involved in turning into a PlantSim and this is not something most Simmers are not familiar with. The addition of PlantSims, therefore, would feel a little odd to players who are not too familiar with the massive lore of the franchise.
After consuming a Forbidden Fruit, players can now become PlantSims for as long as five days. The Forbidden Fruit can be acquired via the Plant-A-Sim scenario. One can also get it by growing Magic Beans. The new appearance of The Sims would be quirky. However, the species change would not lead them to reaping a lot of benefits. PlantSims, unlike regular Sims, consume food via sunlight exposure and drinking water in large quantities. Though this intensifies the urge for players to prepare food for their Sims and use the bathroom, they do not get any extra power from this alteration.

When one sees ghosts being revitalized through the Life & Death expansion pack, one realizes a similar update could be designed for PlantSims. Since PlantSims is not popular enough, there is a limited possibility of a standalone update being rolled out for it. However, if a plant-themed update is released for The Sims 4, an update of this nature could be designed as well. If that happens, it would definitely make a section of fans feel happy.
