Vivo X Fold 5 Launch Date and Three Color Options Officially Announced

Through a social media post, Vivo has declared its plans to host a major launch event in the home country on the 25th of this month.

The brand will use the opportunity to release its upcoming foldable, the Vivo X Fold 5 along with the Vivo TWS Air 3 earbuds.

A teaser by Product Manager Han Boxiao claims that the smartphone will be lighter and stronger, highlighting advancements in design and progress.

The teaser also mentions that the handset will be available in three color choices of White, Pine Green, and Black or Titanium. Moreover, in a Weibo post, he has stated that the X Fold 5 will have excellent imaging capabilities.

Expected X Fold 5 Specs

Reports gathered in the past indicate that the foldable has many promising features.

The smartphone will have 8T LTPO AMOLED panels supporting full-brightness high-frequency PWM dimming for both displays. While the cover display will have a size of 6.53 inches, the main 8.03-inch display will have a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 2K resolution, and 4,500 nits local peak brightness, along with TUV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0 certification.

Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold 5 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that delivers enhanced performance and power efficiency. This will be accompanied by up to 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.

In the camera department, the handset will incorporate Zeiss Master Optics. There will be three 50 MP cameras on the back. It has already been confirmed by Han Boxiao that one of them will be a periscope telephoto camera with 1x and 20x zoom capabilities. The other two shooters will be a main snapper and an ultra-wide snapper.

The foldable will house a huge 6,000 mAh battery. The battery will support 30 W wireless charging and 90 W wired charging.

Other Highlights

The Vivo X Fold 5 will feature triple-proof protection against water and dust and work in a -30 °C environment.

The smartphone will also offer iPhone interconnectivity support.

While the IMDA Authority and SIRIM certifications confirm the handset’s launch in Malaysia and Singapore, it may also reach the Indian subcontinent later this year.
