The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has gained traction recently with several details about what can be expected in the smartphone.
The handset will be the top-end variant in the Xiaomi 15 lineup. The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro were released in October last year. A new leak about the 15 Ultra mentions the choice of chipset.
Small Surge Processor
Going by the post on the popular X platform by @That_Kartikey, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will utilize a processor developed in-house by the manufacturer.

Although the leak mentions the name of the chipset as Small Surge, it also mentions that the SoC specifications are unknown.

Surge Series of Chipsets
The Surge series of processors are known to assist in battery management and enhance the battery’s charging time and life. If the manufacturer opts to follow the same trend, the Small Surge chipset is likely to function like a signal enhancement processor or offer the same features as the past set of Surge processors.
Expected Xiaomi 15 Ultra Specifications
The 15 Ultra will come with a quad-curved 2K display. The smartphone will run on Android 15 layered with the manufacturer’s HyperOS 2.0. The handset will also house up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. Earlier reports also talk about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
The smartphone will also offer a game-changing experience for photography lovers with its excellent camera setup. The handset will support 10 cm+/- macro focus and an enhanced lens coating. It will also incorporate a new photography kit. There will be four cameras including a periscope telephoto camera with a Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor and 200 MP resolution, a telephoto lens with a Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with 50 MP resolution and 3x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide camera with an ISOCELL sensor and a 50 MP resolution.

The 15 Ultra will have a huge 6000 mAh battery with support for 80 W wireless charging and 90 W wired charging. It will also support satellite communication.
The brand has confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be launched at the MWC 2025 event that will take place in February this year.
