The Xiaomi 16 series has been in the news, on and off.
A leak that did the rounds last week revealed a few renders of the base variant, the Xiaomi 16. This has now been followed by a new leak stating some of the main specifications of the smartphone.
Expected Xiaomi 16 Specs
The specs of the handset have been put forward by tipster Digital Chat Station who has a decent reputation for providing accurate details.
The Xiaomi 16 will house a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor under its hood. Interestingly, it will be the first smartphone to come with this processor.

While the RAM and storage details are unclear at the moment, it will come with Android 16 layered with the brand’s HyperOS 3.0 UI under its hood.
There will be a three-camera setup in a rectangular module on the back panel. All of them will have a resolution of 50 MP. The three cameras are a main camera, a telephoto camera with macro support, and an ultra-wide lens. Its front camera details are not yet known.
In the display department, the smartphone will have an OLED flat display. This display will have a size of 6.3 inches.
As for the battery, the handset will have a much bigger battery than its predecessor. With a capacity of more than 6,500 mAh, the battery size is quite big for a non-Pro model.
Getting into the design details, the smartphone will have thin bezels on all sides.

The back panel will have a two-tone design similar to what is anticipated for the upcoming iPhone 17 series.
The Xiaomi 16 series is anticipated to break cover in the final quarter of 2025. While the base variant will be available both in China and the global market, the Pro variant will be exclusive to the home country.
