Following various leaks about the Xiaomi 16 lineup in the past, the Xiaomi 16 Pro has now found its way to the rumor circle.
The latest leak is about the periscope telephoto camera of the smartphone. However, the details mentioned don’t appear to indicate an upgrade as anticipated earlier.
Expected Periscope Telephoto Camera Details
The camera details have been shared through a post on the X platform by a tipster Kartikey Singh.
The 16 Pro will use a new Samsung sensor in place of the standard Sony sensor that the brand had opted for in the past. This is likely to be a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor with a size of 1/2.76 inches and it was the telephoto camera in the standard Xiaomi 15.

For the unversed, the earlier Xiaomi 15 Pro uses a bigger Sony IMX858 sensor with a size of 1/2.51-inch and 5x optical zoom support for its periscope telephoto shooter.
The same tipster additionally claims that the Xiaomi 16 will not have a periscope camera. It will only have the same telephoto shooter as its predecessor.
Other Rumored Xiaomi 16 Lineup Specs
The Xiaomi 16 lineup is slated to include at least five smartphones comprising the Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Mini, 16 Ultra, and 16S Pro. There may be a Pro Max variant as well, with the biggest display in the series.
The entire Xiaomi 16 series will have a 50 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The Pro Mini will have a main camera apart from the periscope telephoto shooter.
While the Xiaomi 16 will house a large battery, the Pro Mini is likely to have a smaller battery.

The standard, Pro, and Pro Mini variants will have displays of 6.5-inch, 6.3-inch, and 6.8-inch sizes, respectively.
The Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, and Pro Mini are reported to break cover in October this year, while the 16 Ultra and 16S Pro will have a slightly delayed launch in the first half of next year.
