The 2017 Renault Zoe is an efficient electric hatchback that the brand kept under wraps.
A Dutch website listing has leaked specifications and other details of the Zoe.
The new model was scheduled for launch at the 2016 Paris auto show. According to the information published on the Dutch website, the 2017 Renault Zoe will have 248 miles of coverage on a single charge and it is an electric hatchback. The outgoing model delivered at least 100 miles less than the next generation model.
Zoe is not only more powerful than its predecessor but the car can go over 93 miles in comparison with Nissan Leaf, one of its direct competitor. The real world performance of electric models could vary some because of road conditions, temperature and even the speed of the car. We may have to wait to test the car on different regions but it’s still tough for the Leaf to beat the Zoe this generation if these numbers are real.
In terms of performance, the model offers 76 horsepower with its entry level model and the mid-range versions can offer 87 horsepower. While Renault has not officially confirmed it, there is a probability that they will launch a cheaper and another entry level model to add to the lineup. The cars may or may not be available in the UK as Renault usually has a strong focus in the US, Europe regions.
With the technical specification leak, the Dutch website also revealed a picture that shows the 2017 Renault Zoe in action. The car continues to keep all the design elements from the outgoing model. It is obvious that the facelifted model is going to focus more on the powertrain and the interiors rather than making minor changes on the outside.
After the leak, the website removed the technical specification from their website. It should go up again after the official launch at the Paris auto expo. The event is just a day to go and it won’t be long before we see all the EVs lined up.
