General Motors is all set to unveil the second generation Chevrolet Traverse at the upcoming Detroit auto show.
The company has also planned to launched a redesigned version of their GMC Terrain at the same show.
In a statement, the auto manufacturer confirmed that they are looking forward to the auto expo where some of their biggest launches are about to take place. General Motors houses some of the top brands in the industry and the first expo of 2017 plays a crucial role in getting their models out in due time. The upcoming 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is the second generation model following the successful first model. It garnered enough attention from buyers and led to successful sale records that prompted General Motors to go with a revised edition.
Confirming the news, General Motors released a teaser image of the upcoming Traverse model. It will be showcased in full during the Detroit motor expo scheduled to take place in the month of January next year. The silhouette teaser reveals very little of the car. However, based on the size of the car, we can deduce that it does share some similarities with the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. The Traverse will however will be bigger in size when compared to the Equinox and is designed for a different target audience.
Chevrolet has a long running history of success associated with the model. The biggest crossover in their lineup has been the since ever since its first reveal in 2008. For years, the brand enjoyed immense sales records that prevented the designers from going ahead with a major overhaul. However, with passing years the need to revise the model became a dire need that paved way for the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse.
General Motors is quite tight lipped about the upcoming model. With just weeks to go, the company is keen on things wrapped up so that they could have a big reveal at the Detroit auto show. The brand executives said that the new model will feature a third row with best in-class legroom, enough cargo space for all passengers on board combined with a wide range of innovative technologies. One of the notable technology they talked about is the D-optic headlamps designed to offer daylight-like lighting effect even in pitch black conditions.
The company is expected to launch more teaser images and probably videos before the big reveal of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse next month.
