The 2018 Mercedes AMG GT Roadster is about to go on sale.
The company is yet to officially confirm the pricing of the upcoming models but it is expected to be around $120,000.
The automobile brand has confirmed that they will soon start accepting orders from buyers in Europe. The AMG GT, GT C Roadster and the GT R Coupe are all about to come into stores all at once. For performance car buyers, this is a dream come true with multiple top performance models getting launched at the same time. The only catch is that the pricing revealed is in Euros and people living in the U.S. or UK has no idea of what to expect. While the exact pricing is yet to be announced by the company, the pricing of $120,000 has been approximately assumed based on its Euro price tag.
The GT Roadster is the cheapest of them all in the European launch while the GT C Roadster and the GT R coupe are priced close to each other. They are much higher when directly compared with the entry level model. The base model is powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine and is capable of producing up to 469 horsepower whereas the GT C delivers a much higher 550 horsepower. The acceleration capability of the GT C is about 3.7 seconds to go from 0 to 62 miles per hour while the GT Roadster achieves the same in about 3.9 seconds. The difference is very minimal to take notice of.
Next in the launch lineup is the GT R coupe, the most powerful Mercedes AMG car that is coming to the European market. The model is expected to be priced at $160,000 in the United States which is slightly higher than the estimated price tag of $155,000 for the GT C Roadster edition. The latter has electronically controlled slip differential, bigger bumper, wider stance and has a lot of exquisite materials used to make the interior look posh. The cars are all designed to amaze the buyers and at these price points, it is obvious that they are supposed to exceed expectations.
The price estimates were also made based on inputs provided by a Mercedes representative. It might take a couple of months for the 2018 Mercedes AMG GT R Coupe and Roadsters to make their way to the U.S. When it does, we will have a clear picture of their official pricing.
