Android 7.0 Nougat Update Rolling out for AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Sprint’s S6 and S6 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

After Sprint recently started rolling out the new Android 7.0 Nougat to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users in the U.S., AT&T has also joined the party with its own Nougat treat for not just Galaxy Note 5 users, but also those using the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

AT&T has already made an official update to its Samsung Galaxy Note 5 support page with respect to Android 7.0 Nougat. In addition, quite a good number of those using the phone on the carrier have confirmed via the official forums that indeed Nougat is being rolled out to the Note 5 phablet.

If you are using the Galaxy Note 5 on AT&T, look out for an update that carries build number NRD90M.N920AUCU4EQC6 and since this is a major software update, be sure to create space of at least 1.6GB in order to install it. In addition to coming in with Android 7.0 Nougat, the company’s changelog also notes that the Note 5 will no longer have an AT&T Address Book, MobiTV as well as AT&T Live. As for the newcomers, expect to meet Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pass as well as the latest Android security patch for the month of March 2017.

In order to install the new Android 7.0 Nougat on your AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the device must be installed with at least software version N920AUCS4CQA1 or N920AUCS4CQB2, otherwise, the Nougat update won’t install.

Since the same treat is also coming to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ users, the build number is the same at NRD90M, but the baseband version is G928AUCU4EQC6. The update is heavy at 1.51GB and like the Galaxy Note 5, it comes with the latest March Android security patch alongside Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass. Similarly, the update will also get rid of AT&T Address Book, MobiTV as well as AT&T Live.

If you are using Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge on Sprint, the update has also just been made available. Weighing slightly above 1GB, the update carries software version G920PVPU4DQC7 for the standard S6 and version G925PVPU4DQC7 for the S6 Edge.

Both carrier’s updates are now available over the air (OTA) and such, they’ll roll out gradually. However, you can move ahead of the rest and download the update manually to your Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ or Note 5 by going to Settings>About phone>System update>Check for updates.
