Battlefield 6: Why Launch of Open Beta Now Can Help The Game’s Sales

Battlefield 6

Fans believe Electronic Arts will roll out a beta version of the game soon!

One would have to wait for a few more months to see Battlefield 6 come to life. Battlefield 1942, the first game in the franchise, was launched in 2002. In more than two decades, one has had several successful titles being launched as a part of the franchise. There is, therefore, a lot of anticipation around Battlefield 6.

In the last few months, one has heard several rumors pertaining to Battlefield 6. Apart from coming across reports suggesting developmental setbacks, one has also stumbled upon news pieces suggesting that Electronic Arts has huge expectations from the game and therefore, does not want to rush through the developmental process. The way things have moved so far, it is quite natural to see fans arrive at the assumption that the open beta for Battlefield 6 will not arrive anytime soon.

Gaming experts believe now is a good time to roll out a beta for Battlefield 6. For the longest time, Battlefield 6 has been surrounded by doubts and uncertainties. Rolling out a beta in such a time, experts believe, will help in putting those doubts to rest.

A while back, some EA employees were interviewed about Battlefield 6. As per their statement, EA hopes that Battlefield 6 will hit the 100-million mark as far as the player base is concerned. To put things into perspective, Battlefield 2042 had 22 million registered players. Based on this expectation, one can assume that Battlefield 6 will be pitched as a direct competitor to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. If that is indeed the case, EA has to make an effort towards building a player base for Battlefield 6 months before it gets an official launch.

If the studio is serious about hitting the 100 million milestone, it should work towards launching an open beta soon. Apart from attracting younger players, an open beta could contribute towards bringing lapsed players and older fans back into the fold. The beta of the last Battlefield title came out a month before the game was launched.

Releasing a beta months in advance could help in driving home the point that Battlefield 6 is a superior product as compared to its predecessors. This perception could then play an important role in boosting sales when the game releases.

A while back, DICE implemented Battlefield Labs. This made fans believe that the future of the gaming franchise is in safe hands. Since then, one has seen playtests being carried out regularly.

Some events, which occurred in the past, have already made fans believe that the open beta for Battlefield 6 could be out very soon. This year, in the month of May, Andrew Wilson, who serves as the CEO of EA, stated in an earnings call that Battlefield 6 will come out before 2026. He also confirmed that a full reveal of the game will be taking place this summer.
