The Google Home has been making headlines as the major competitor to the buoyant Amazon Echo as far as the Smart Home business is concerned.
Launched last year, the Google Home has just received its first major discount that sheds off half the price of the original, now selling at just $64. Usually, the Home would set you back $129, but folks at Walmart want you to save yourself the extra $65 by buying the Home from their stores.
Apparently, you won’t find this deal when you visit the giant retailer’s online store. Rather, you must visit the brick and mortar establishments in order to grab a discounted Google Home. Another thing to note is that this deal has only been discovered at the Walmart store located in Arizona’s Glendale, but we do believe that it should also be available in other locations across the U.S.
The Google Home just hit the UK last month and so far, this region has yet to start seeing such deals. So far, the smart home assistant will set you back £129, but like here in the U.S., discounts should start flying around later in the year.
The Google Home is not the only device from the search engine giant that is currently enjoying a massive discount. If you fancy the Google Nexus Player, there’s also something good for you. A quick visit to the Daily Steals website will reveal a discounted Nexus Player costing just $55. Usually, this device is priced at $99, which means you are saving an impressive $45.
The model in question is black in color and with it, you should be able to enjoy the Android TV platform seamlessly thanks to the powerful Intel Atom SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with a RAM of 1GB alongside 8GB of storage. Although it has Android Lollipop out of the box, the Nexus Player can be updated to the latest Android 7.1 2 Nougat via an OTA update.
