Dimensity 8000 chip is likely to launch soon, claims reliable tipster Digital Chat Station. To recollect, MediaTek recently unveiled the Dimensity 9000 as its most powerful SoC.

The D9000 is expected to power flagship devices. There have been rumors that the company is working on the Dimensity 7000 mid-range devices. According to the tipster, the D7000 SoC will be renamed as Dimensity 8000.

Dimensity 8000 Specifications (Rumored)

The leak reveals that the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 will be manufactured using TSMC’s 5nm processing technology. It will comprise of four Cortex-A78 cores clocking at 2.75GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores ticking at 2.0GHz. For graphics, it will come with Mali-G510 MC6 GPU.

The Dimensity 8000 will support Full HD+ displays with up to 168Hz refresh rate or Quad HD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It will come equipped with support for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It can be said based on a previous leak that it may carry support for up to 75W fast charging.

The tipster has claimed that the Dimensity 8000 chip will be seen on Redmi and Realme phones. The specifications of the D8000 suggests that it will be a toned-down version of the Dimensity 9000.

Speaking of Dimensity 9000, recent AI benchmarks have revealed that it will offer stellar performance. The data from the benchmarking site revealed that the Dimensity 9000 has beaten major SoCs like Snapdragon 888, Exynos 2100, Kirin 9000, and Google Tensor. The D9000 recorded 4.2 times higher score than the Snapdragon 888 on AI benchmarks.

Reports have claimed that the Dimensity 9000 will be fueling the Redmi K50 Gaming series of smartphones. Some of other K50 models have been speculated to feature the Dimensity 7000 (now known as Dimensity 8000).
