After a lot of argument and compatibility issues, Bethesda finally confirmed that they are bringing user mod support to Fallout 4 and Skyrim remastered edition.
These games are some of the best open world adventure that Bethesda could offer. Mod support for these titles is available on PCs for a very long time, obviously and has been introduced on Xbox One console as well. However, Sony’s Playstation 4 posed a lot of technical constraints and the company was not willing to let go of them easily. Bethesda seems to have spent hours talking to Sony representatives, probably arguing.
“We and Sony had to really hard to make this possible,” said the company in their official blog post. Mod support will be available on Skyrim first as soon as the game gets launched on October 28. Bethesda has also worked to harness the power of the Playstation 4 Pro console. Players who like to be ahead of the technology and purchased the machine will be able to enjoy the game in native 4K!
A huge jump for the Elder Scrolls franchise and definitely a noteworthy title for the PS4 Pro platform in UHD resolution! For those who are keen to see how the game works and how good it looks, Bethesda has released some of the 4K screenshots. The world of Skyrim looks super beautiful like never before with brand new textures, fog, lighting effects and an improved resolution.
Bethesda confirmed that players will be able to modify and create their own mods using the creation kit available for download from their page. Bethesda.net will host a collection of popular and new mods from which PS4 and PS4 Pro gamers can browse to find their most preferred choices.“We are really excited to bring this feature to Playstation 4 and Pro consoles. Modding has been an important part of all our games including Fallout 4 and Skyrim. We are glad that this could be introduced even though there has been significant delay in bringing it to Playsation. Our team looks forward to add even more exciting features to our loyal fans in the coming years,” read the post.
Skyrim remastered will be the first game to receive support and mods. Once work is done on the same, the team will move on to Fallout 4 to add mods as well as upgrade the title to run seamlessly on the PS4 Pro machine with better lighting and graphics.
