For years, PAX West has emerged as an event that celebrates the gaming culture in a grand manner. This year, at PAX West 2024, Kei Odagiri, who serves as the lead user interface for Final Fantasy 14, shared some important updates on the quality-of-life features being designed for Final Fantasy 14. According to Odagiri, some of the features, such as a raid strategy planner and chat bubbles, were still being developed. The gaming executive further stated that content updates rolled out in the future would result in the Group Pose feature receiving further enhancements.

The newest content update designed for Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail resulted in the first Savage tier of the Arcadion raid series getting a fair amount of attention. It also put across a challenge of level 100 players to dig deep into the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon. Apart from that, it also brought in some balance changes for Jobs like Viper, Monk and Black Mage. The balance updates to Viper and Monk also led to Square Enix making some modifications to their respective Job gauges.

While Final Fantasy 14 gears up to roll out future content updates for Dawntrail, several quality-of-life updates continue to be in the pipeline. Odagiri had global community producer Toshio Muroicchi and translator Aimi Tokutake for the company at the PAX West 2024 panel. During this panel discussion, they shed light on several features and statistics pertaining to the user interface and control schemes of the game.

As the second part of the panel commenced, Odagiri spoke extensively about the Group Pose feature and some tricks players have tried out in the past to get a shot in portrait mode. It is quite a well-known fact that taking vertical portraits can be extremely difficult while trying to retain screen resolution. Odagiri also confirmed that a portrait mode option for Group Pose was currently in the development process. He further added that a Group Pose update which has been designed for 7.1 would enable Fisher to take a Group Pose.
