The next gen Ford Super Stand GT500 is under production which is going to be the competent rival for the Dodge Hellcat.
It is speculated that the upcoming Ford car could be powered by a V8 twin turbo engine designed to deliver up to 530 kW power. The Mustang Shelby GT 500 is a popular sports car known for its extreme performance and is a completely new segment when compared to other Ford models. The automaker usually focuses on customer friendly, budget models but the Mustang division operates on its own. It is an absolute rival for Dodge cars among other superfast models created by other manufacturers.
Spy photographers have already emerged. They confirmed that Ford is busy testing its performance flagship model. It has been designed from the ground up to beat the records held by the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. According to a statement made to a leading automobile magazine, the GT500 could be equipped with 530kW which is 900 Nm when it hits stores in U.S. Generating such levels of power is no easy task but Ford is expected to accomplish the insanely high numbers by using a 5.2-liter V8 engine.
Instead of using just one, the brand will be using a twin turbo model to exert the required performance out of the Shelby GT500. The test mule spotted by spy photographers had the sticker that read TT-0081. It was already found in the F-150 Raptor which paves way for this claim that a twin turbo V8 is being used in the upcoming car.
The model is expected to be equipped with a 10 speed automatic gearbox system and is considered to be quicker than the one offered by Porsche’s PDK design. The prototype model was heavily camouflaged but we could spot the wider front fascia combined with rear track, large brakes and a bulge in the bonnet which probably is the new beefed up engine.
With a couple of auto expos scheduled to take place before the end of the year, Ford could choose to launch their Mustang Shelby GT500 at one of these events. A likely reveal is possible in the following months but it will be another year before the car is available for purchase. A limited number of the models will be built. There is no word on pricing yet but with such substantial performance, it is definitely going to be an expensive car for most people to buy.
