After waiting for more than 20 years, Star Wars fans finally have an idea about what General Grievous looks like.
If you have been a Star Wars fan and always wanted to see General Grievous without a mask, you have finally got a chance to do so, thanks to a new Fortnite leak. The latest season of Fortnite has brought to the fore a plethora of Star Wars content. Among other things, one has received access to skins of characters like Mace Windu and ‘Darth Jar-Jar’. Players now also have an AI Darth Vader NPC, which they can speak to. This NPC interacts with players in the voice of James Earl Jones. While speaking to the NPC, the one thing players should remember is to avoid talking about controversial topics.
While fans would have been content with the presence of Vader, they have the opportunity to explore another villain in the form of General Grievous. General Grievous skins are now finally available after going through a bit of a delay. Grievous, as an ardent Star Wars fan would know, happened to be a field commander for the Separatist Army at the time of the Clone Wars. Apart from being trained in the Jedi arts by Count Dooku, Grievous was known to come equipped with cybernetic limbs and implants. Before these upgrades came through, one knew Grievous as a Kaleesh warlord called Qymaen jai Sheelal. One had a glimpse of his true face in an issue of 2019’s Star Wars Age of Republic – General Grievous.

Before General Grievous metamorphosed into the cyborg Jedi killer from Star Wars, he already had an alternative Fortnite skin of himself. Based on the developments which took in the past, one can assume that Epic Games put in a lot of effort to create a face under his war mask which resembles a skull. This particular revelation was brought to the fore by an X user who identifies themselves as WizarConcepts. The X user shared a leaked image featuring the exposed face of Grievous.
This face served as a perfect match of the one we saw in the Age of Republic comic. The yellow reptile-like eyes, dark red skin and bony tusks, everything reminded one of the face we had first encountered in 2019 in the comic book.
Those who have come across this Fortnite leak so far are quite happy with the kind of detailing that Epic has brought to the fore while putting together this crossover content. This is an important moment as it signifies the first-ever occurrence of Grievous being unmasked in a video game. In the past, one has seen Kaleesh, Grievous’ original avatar, in other Star Wars content.

In the other media platforms, one had either seen Kaleesh in a darkened room or in the form of an illustrated comic book art style. This Fortnite model, in a way, serves as the most organic representation of Grievous so far.
For more than 20 years, Star Wars fans have wondered what General Grievous looks like. They finally have the answer to it. Since Grievous’ face was behind the mask all this while, Epic could take the chance of not creating the face of Kaleesh beneath it.
