Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow Updates Rolling Out: Here’s the Current Status

Marshmallow

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is still one of the most revered devices from Samsung, having been one of the first devices people have embraced as phablets.

With news of Samsung rolling out Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge all over, not so many people are taking a keen interest in when this phablet will be receiving the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, or even if it is receiving it now. Just to clear some air, Samsung revealed that devices such as Galaxy J7, J5, A7 as well as Galaxy Note 4 will be receiving the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

At the moment, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are already receiving Android 6.0.1 M update. In addition, there is a new report coming from SamMobile claiming that the update is already rolling out for Galaxy Note 5 owners in South Korea. This follows earlier reports that the same update was seen in Cambodia.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update already rolling out in Hungary

While this is happening, ZDNet claims that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was actually the first Samsung device to receive the new Android Marshmallow update. According to the reports, this rollout began in Hungary and it has been on for quite some time now. However, the same report adds that those living in the U.S. and the UK will have to wait until somewhere in March or even April before receiving this new OS on their Note 4 smartphones.

As usual, we expect the new Android Marshmallow update to show up on different devices at different times. This will largely depend on the carriers, with all leading carriers in the country expected to release a roadmap of how this rollout will proceed. At the moment, it is not possible to tell the exact date when this update will come to your device.

For Galaxy Note 5 owners in Canada, you’ll be glad to know that Telus carrier has already listed the device among other Samsung devices that will be receiving the Marshmallow update. The release date will be around March 9 whereas Galaxy S6 owners can wait until April.

Other than Galaxy S6 series, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Note 4, Samsung has also listed devices such as Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A series, Galaxy J series as well as Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7, among others. These, among other Galaxy tablets, will be receiving the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update probably before the summer kicks in.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were announced this week and they will be powered by the latest Android Marshmallow out of the box.
