As the holiday shopping season closes in, Verizon Wireless wants you to have the best of deals and in doing so, the carrier has unveiled a buy-one-get-one-free promotion for a number of its high-end Android devices.
However, there is a catch to this deal. In order to make the cut, you need to first buy any of Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL or the LG V20 on the carrier’s monthly plan. Once this is done, you should be able to get the chance to buy another device similar to what bought at half the price. In case you don’t feel like getting a second Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, for instance, you also have the option to pick any other device of the same price tag or a lesser value. Keep in mind that this deal has nothing to with iPhones and it only involves the five Android flagships mentioned.
Verizon Wireless has not mentioned when this deal will expire, but as usual, don’t expect it to last long enough. As a result, you need to hurry before it expires, just in case you really want a new flagship at half the normal price.
Just to remind you, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge come with 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch AMOLED screens with QHD resolutions, but the latter has a curved edge-to-edge screen as opposed to the flat screen found on the former. Both screens are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 and you also get IP68 water and dust resistance certification. Under the hood, both Samsung Galaxy S7 phones have a Snapdragon 820 alongside 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage.
You also get the same 12MP and 5MP camera combination on both alongside support for microSD card storage, microUSB ports, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner as well as a 3000mAh and 3600mAh battery unit on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, respectively. Both units are still using Android Marshmallow, but they are eligible for the new Galaxy Beta Program that brings the preview version of Android Nougat on board.
As for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, you get newer processors than what is used on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. There is a Snapdragon 821 SoC on both models, but the same 4GB RAM is retained. You get two storage options of 32GB and 128GB, but the high-end models are already out of stock, especially for the Pixel XL. Like the S7 and S7 Edge, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL have different screen sizes of 5 inches and 5.5 inches, however, it is only the latter that comes with QHD resolution. The Google Pixel phones have the same 12MP and 8MP sensors on the rear and front cameras, respectively.
The smaller Pixel also packs a smaller battery of 2770mAh as compared to the 3450mAh unit used on the Pixel XL. The two phones run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and support the newer USB-C connectivity.
Lastly, the LG V20 comes in with a 5.7-inch QHD LCD screen as the main screen, but you also get a 2.1-inch secondary screen with the same resolution. Under the hood, the V20 packs a Snapdragon 820 SoC, the same version used on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, alongside the same 4GB RAM. However, the phablet has 64GB of onboard storage in addition to a microSD card slot.
The LG V20 was the first device to come preinstalled with Android Nougat, even ahead of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. The phone also offers a better camera setup than any of the other models here, boasting a dual-lens system on the back with 16MP and 8MP sensors. On the front, the phone has a 5MP sensor. LG V20 has a removable battery of 3200mAh, which is another unique feature of this great phone.
