Google is doing everything to push Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X users into jumping onto the Pixel phones.
Recently, the tech giant confirmed that Android 8.0 O will be the last major OS that Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X users will be receiving. In the same update, the company also mentioned that starting next September, these two Nexus phones will not be supported in any way, be it software updates or through customer care (both telephone and online).
Now, in another major attempt to push aside the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, Google is no longer listing the Nexus devices on its official support home page. Of course, the page has the likes of Pixel phone and the rest of Google’s services, among them Chrome, YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Drive, AdSense, Search and Photos.
These listings are just shortcuts to accessing the specific support pages for individual Google products. Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X could previously be accessed from here via the shortcut Nexus phone, but today, this is no longer the case. Instead, one has to do a manual search for the Nexus phone in order to open the support page for these two devices.
The fact that Google has some is complicating the access to the Nexus phones’ support page should send shivers down your spine. The company is simply saying that the two are slowly being phased out and instead, they have been replaced by the Pixel phones.
