A new leak has just come up stating that Google is likely to do a repeat of what it did in 2024 by planning five Pixel phones in 2025.
The upcoming smartphones will be a Pixel 9a handset and four Pixel 10 handsets. These will be the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This is the same trend that the manufacturer followed in 2024 with the smartphones being named Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Codenames of the Google Pixel 2025 Lineup
The rumor with the codenames revealed was first leaked on Android Headlines. Along with the codenames, the leak indicates that Google is likely to continue its two-size option for the Pro model in its upcoming lineup.

According to the rumors, the Google Pixel 9a will have a codename ‘Tegu’. On the other hand, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will be associated with the codenames ‘Frankel’ and ‘Blazer’ respectively.
The Pixel 10 Pro is reportedly assigned the codename ‘Mustang’. This will be the biggest handset in the Pro range. The foldable smartphone, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will have a codename ‘Rango’.
Google is known to follow a specific trend for its codenames. All Pixel 9 series in the past except the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the upcoming Pixel 9a have been codenamed after reptiles. Similarly, the codenames of all the Pixel 10 handsets in the 2025 lineup other than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold are related to horses.
Other Specifications
The specifications of the Google Pixel 2025 lineup are still under wraps. The mid-range Pixel 9a will likely be revealed in May during the Google I/O conference with the most recent software and hardware features at an affordable price.

There are talks that the upcoming series will be powered by Tensor G5, the next-generation Tensor chip under the hood. Moreover, as the Pixel 10 series aligns with the manufacturer’s 10th anniversary of manufacturing Pixel smartphones, there are expectations that Google will offer interesting new features and important upgrades for the Pixel 10 series.
All the above-mentioned details are speculative at the moment and must be taken with a pinch of salt until the manufacturer makes further announcements.
