Ever since the Google Pixel and Pixel XL came to life, potential buyers have not had the best of times when after buying these phones, especially the latter.
For starters, the larger Google Pixel XL is proving to be so hard to come by when compared to the smaller Google Pixel. In addition, the fact that the phones are only available via Google and Verizon outlets also means that getting hold of the phone is somehow overwhelming the two companies.
While buyers of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL seem comfortable with waiting until their orders are ready for shipping, many are not impressed with how both Google and Verizon are handling the delays. Apparently, it is hard to tell whether it is the cause of Google or Verizon, but a bunch of Redditors seems to be ok with faulting the latter after supposedly finding out that the Big Red is possibly taking sides.
According to the infuriated Redditors, it appears that Verizon Wireless is attending to new customers who are purchasing a Google Pixel or Pixel XL phone while postponing the shipping dates for current customers who had already ordered the phones. Many who ordered for a Google Pixel XL as early as November 15, 2016, are still being told that their phones will start shipping as from February 17, 2017. Interestingly, the company is also giving out the same date for those who have recently placed an order for the phones.
Even though this could mean Verizon will start shipping the Google Pixel and Pixel XL in the next few weeks, it could also mean the carrier isn’t considering the first-in-first-out protocol that many expect to be followed. Apparently, new customers are being given the same priority as old customers – something many are not happy with.
On the side of Google, ordering a Pixel phone (32GB) today will mean you get it as from January 13, 2017, whereas the high-end 128GB will start shipping as from January 5. Like with the case of the Google Pixel XL on Verizon, you won’t find this phone via the Google Store at this point in time.
OK get this now they are pushing the customers that have had orders once November back t march 10. I was expecting mine on January 6 . I even called on that day and two different representative s told me 100% it was in stock and shipping out that day. To get a email 20 minutes later that said my ship date was being pushed back 2 months .The worst part is I cancelled the phone then I was told I would have to pay back the extra amount the I I received for my trade in (s7 edge) because they could on offer me 249. For my trade if I cancelled my order. So I had to place a new order. Just so I didn’t have to pay them 400 dollars. I thought Samsung burned people Google and Verizon just put it to their own customers not just once but twice and there is nothing we can do.GO BIG RED.
