At the moment, most of Rockstar’s energies are channelized towards ensuring a smooth release for GTA 6 in the fall of 2025. Despite this, it continues to roll out fresh content updates for GTA Online quite regularly. While the gaming studio has received a lot of accolades for its thoughtful updates, a recent anti-cheat update has been the cause behind the emergence of a controversy that has taken place in the Steam Deck community. Because of this update, the live-service game has become unplayable on devices running Linux. This has resulted in a decline in the number of concurrent players. A large number of users are of the opinion that the anti-cheat system was not required. Its implementation, therefore, has led to them getting upset.
A couple of weeks ago, Rockstar bore the brunt of severe criticism when it removed a popular game mode from GTA Online. The gaming studio, however, has done a few things right recently. It made an announcement about the upcoming GTA Online Zombie survival mode set in North Yankton through a blog post. North Yankton, as ardent fans would be aware, was the backdrop for the opening mission of the game. Players will now get the opportunity to explore this iconic location again. Ludendorff Cemetery, which is one of the highlights of this location, is where the new survival mode will kick off.
