Despite Rockstar Games pulling down its YouTube channel, Revolution Team has gone ahead with the launch!
Revolution Team, a Russian modding group, recently launched a new Grand Theft Auto mod. Though the mod has just been launched, it has become a hot topic of discussion. The mod gives players the opportunity to experience GTA Vice City Next-Gen Edition in GTA IV.
This particular mod is also in the news as Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive is not too happy with it. The gaming developer also took prompt action by getting the official YouTube channel of the Revolution Team deleted.

Once the YouTube channel got deleted, Revolution Team shared a statement that stated that the team had put in “a huge amount of effort” to build the channel. The mod’s development itself consumed hundreds of hours of stream. Through the statement, the team also said that it got disconnected from its international audience owing to the YouTube channel getting deleted.
GTA Vice City Next-Gen Edition’s teaser trailer had amassed more than 100,000 views and generated over 1,500 comments in less than 24 hours. These numbers reflect the kind of traction the teaser/trailer has had.

As per the statement released by Revolution Team, there is no scope to recover the YouTube channel. Describing this to be a “cruel move” by Take-Two Interactive, Revolution Team has decided to move on and launch the mod.
Revolution Team further stated that it had earlier put forward a condition to “show respect to the publisher”. Earlier, one had to have a legitimate copy of GTA IV to download this mod. Now, this condition has been set aside. Revolution Team will now be releasing this mod as a standalone package that can be installed by a player even if they do not have a legitimate copy of the game. By doing this, they want the mod to be accessible to the “widest possible audience”.
