Haier Watch: Official Release Date and Features

Haier Watch

Powered by the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, the newly launched Haier Watch was just shown off at the MWC 2016 in Barcelona.

The Watch, according to Haier, will cost approximately $220. But enthusiasts will have to wait until somewhere in April before they can sport this wrist watch on their arms.

Haier aims at offering users with a full Android packed wrist watch that comes with a top quality build so as to free the user while at the same time keeping stylish. The new Haier Watch is not the first watch the company has designed with an aim of capturing both children and adults.

Features of Haier Watch

For starters, you will enjoy quite a variety of faces that you can pick from. However, the company only displayed a few of these faces at launch. Unlike the Apple Watch which comes in with the ability to make payments via the NFC-enabled Apple Pay, the Watch is missing support for NFC or even Wi-Fi. However, be sure to take advantage of the watch’s Bluetooth 4.0 feature. To make things a little sweeter, Haier has included onboard storage of 8GB, which can be used to store MP3 files that can be played back without the need of connecting it to a phone.

There is no doubt that you’ll love the build quality Haier chose for this watch. The body is made of a 316L stainless steel with a round display of 1.4 inches. As far as the resolution is concerned, the watch’s small display manages 400 by 400 pixels and there is no black bar along the lower end. The watch’s color variants include silver, black as well as gold, but they will also feature varying watch strap options to bring out an even better-looking match.

Haier Watch

As mentioned earlier, the Haier Watch comes with Bluetooth 4.0, which can be handy when listening to music via Bluetooth-enabled headphones. There is no need to go all this way when you can still listen to MP3 files stored on the watch via its integrated speaker. Furthermore, the inbuilt microphone means that receiving or initiating calls from the Watch won’t be a problem. You won’t need to remove your phone from your pocket or bag in order to make or receive a call when you have a Haier Watch on your wrist.

Other extras available on the Haier Watch

In addition to offering the most common services or rather features of smartwatches, the new Haier Watch also comes in with the ability to track heart rates as well as activities, especially exercise types. You can also use this watch to locate your missing phone thanks to its “find my phone” feature. You can also worry less about getting wet when donning the Watch, for it comes with an IP56 rating.

For just $220, the Haier Watch is truly a must-have smartwatch for the many lovers of wearables out there running on a budget.
