Exactly a week ago Huawei Honor 6X was unveiled to the world, a phone that follows in the footsteps of the Honor 5X.
However, this phone has only been launched in its home country of China, but it should at some point make it to other parts of the world. Like its predecessor, you will definitely love the excellent full-metal design the Honor 6X comes with. Even though it also comes with mid-range specs, you will probably get nothing close to the phone’s price tag of just $150.
With the shift in taste today, the Huawei Honor 6X keeps the same 5.5-inch screen size as that used on the Honor 5X. The resolution stays at 1080p, but you will come across a 2.5D curved glass on the front. Under the hood, the company went for its own processor like it has done with a bunch of its other phones, shipping the mid-range with an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC that tops a speed of 2.1GHz.
It gets even better with the specs under the hood. The Kirin 655 SoC is backed by a variety of RAM and storage options. There is a base model, which costs $150, that houses a RAM of 3GB and 32GB of expandable storage. The second-tier variant has the same storage capacity of 32GB but adds an extra GB of RAM. To get the premium version, which has 64GB of onboard storage and 4GB RAM, you need to add an extra $100. The mid-range variant has a price tag of just $190.
Keep in mind that these price tags are for the Chinese market. Whether or not there will be changes in future when the phone arrives in other markets is still unknown, but in case of any, they should be quite insignificant.
If you thought the price tag of the Huawei Honor 6X is the best thing about the phone. You will be shocked to learn that the mid-range handset also comes with a dual-lens camera on the back. You get a 12MP lens paired with a 2MP lens. There is support for PDAF, a LED flash as well as HDR, among other features. The front part has a decent 8MP lens, but there are still no details on the aperture size.
The Honor 6X has a gigantic battery capacity of 3340mAh with support for fast charging technology as well as a fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by Android Marshmallow with an Emotion UI 4.1 skin on top.
