Do you need to part with a huge amount of cash for a phone that packs a dual-lens camera? Google Nexus 6P maker, Huawei, says NO!
There are a number of smartphone features that have emerged in the recent past and most are spared for the flagship phones that come with premium prices. One of these features is the dual-lens camera setup. A trend that was started by LG G5 and later on the likes of Huawei P9, Huawei Honor 8 as well as the latest iPhone 7 Plus jumped onto the bandwagon, Huawei has now moved it to the entry level market with the Honor 6X, the supposed successor to the highly successful Honor 5X.
Launched in China, the Huawei Honor 6X happens to be the cheapest smartphone you can find around with a dual-lens camera on the back. There are three variants of the phone, with the base model priced at 999 Yuan, which translates to about $150.
If you are slightly familiar with Huawei-made Nexus 6P, you should know that this company has what it takes when it comes to smartphone designs. This is what the Honor 6X brings to the fold with a metallic build and a desirable finish, but you will enjoy the 12MP and 2MP rear snappers. As for now, it is still not clear how these two lenses will work. The front part has an even better 8MP selfie camera.
As noted earlier, there are three variants of the Huawei Honor 6X. You get a base model of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. This is followed by a similar storage variant but ups the RAM to 4GB. This model has a price tag of 1,299 Yuan, which is approximately $190. On the premium side, you get the same 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, with the price slightly hiking to 1,599 Yuan or $240. This is still a decent pricing for a phone that, once again, comes with a dual-lens camera. The three come with support for microSD card storage, dual-SIM connectivity as well as a Kirin 655 processor, which is made by Huawei.
All three Huawei Honor 6X variants have the same 5.5-inch Full HD screen, meaning you get a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board with the company’s UI 4.1 skin on top. You should be able to last at least a day with the Huawei Honor 6X thanks to the huge 3340mAh battery. Other perks include a fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE support as well as fast charging capabilities.
You can pick the Honor 6X in any of the five available colors of Gold, Rose Gold, Grey, Silver, and Blue. Even though the phone has bene launched in China, it will not be available in the country until October 25th. The company did not mention a thing about U.S. availability, but since the Honor 5X made it to the country, we also expect to see its successor make the same trip.
