The Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition also known as the Lite Edition has been officially launched in China and the company has revealed some interesting specifications about the smartphone.
In the past, smartphones were segregated into specific range and never offered great performance unless it is a flagship device. However, times have changed and Huawei wants to ensure they provide impressive features so as to impress their young buyers. Appropriately titled as the Youth Edition, the new smartphone boasts of a large 5.65”-inch display which sports the latest 18:9 full screen resolution.
Almost all newly launched models have this aspect ratio which allows smartphone manufacturers to make them bezel less and also to make phones look stylish, contemporary. The new display features a fullHD+ resolution and it also sports great dual cameras on both sides.Over the top of the Android skin, the phone has been wrapped in Emotion UI making it easier to have custom apps and Huawei specific features loaded onto it.
Under the metal casing, the Huawei Honor 9 Lite is powered by a Kirin 659 processor and the octa core CPU is expected to be more powerful than what most average users would need. It is clocked at 2.36GHz making it highly reliable and is also paired with 3GB of RAM. Another variant sports the same specification but has a bigger 4GB of RAM combined with 64GB of storage space.
Apart from the built-in storage space, it also supports a micro SD card slot that can hold up to 256GB of storage. On the rear and the front end of the phone, there is a dual camera setup comprising of a 13 megapixel and a 2 megapixel camera. The dual camera help take impressive photographs with the coveted bokeh effect. The cameras are also capable of capturing amazing 1080p videos on both front and rear side making it one of the very few phones to have achieved such perfection.
The Huawei Honor 9 Lite is powered by 3,000 mAh battery and also supports super charge. The phone is a capable device for everyday use and considering the hardware specifications, it should be able to handle some demanding tasks when needed. Based on the announcement made in China, the base variant of the Honor 9 Youth Edition costs $227 which is very affordable while the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage edition costs $273. It will be available in stores in China on December 26th and will eventually be available in India, UK and Russia.
