Huawei took to the headlines when the Google Nexus 6P was unveiled last year. The smartphone features a premium design that has led to the company being a possible choice for this year’s Google Nexus smartphone or tablet for that matter.
With the Chinese maker still to make a mark in this year’s flagship race, there have been constant rumors about the device to expect from the company.
If everything remains true, the Huawei P9 will be unveiled this coming Wednesday 6 during an event to be held in London. This is the next in line as far as the company’s flagships are concerned. The device has been rumored to come with top-notch photography that features dual-camera system. New rumors now show that Leica will be at the heart of the Huawei P9’s camera.
Huawei secured a long-term partnership with Leica and the fruits of this deal will be realized in the coming device. Images of the phone have been doing rounds all over the web, but none has been better at disclosing the camera type used on the Huawei P9 as the latest. The usual suspect is responsible for the leak – @evleaks – and in the leaked image; there are huge Leica markings with respect to the camera.
In essence, this is the first Huawei P9 image that has been leaked with a “Leica” tag and with the phone’s release date closing in; it might be possible that Leica is indeed behind the phone’s highly touted camera. Further proof of Leica’s mark is the tag line Summarit H 1:2.2/27 ASPH, which is common with the company’s lenses.
Huawei P9 has been teased severally by the company using the hashtag #OO. This, according to rumors, refers to the phone’s dual-camera system. Dual camera systems are beginning to show up in smartphones, with LG G5 having already done that. Now Huawei wants to make the P9 a contender in the flagship market with a unique camera.
Rumored features of Huawei P9
Huawei P9 is rumored to be a device packed with high-end specs and features but as usual, priced affordably. Expect to see a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, a Kirin 950 CPU and 3GB RAM. On storage matters, the P9 will come with 32GB.
This year’s flagships have been bumping up their battery capacities. Huawei P9 will take this battery to higher heights with the rumored 3900mAh capacity. To make the device even more modern, the Chinese OEM has reportedly equipped it with USB Type-C for fast charging, a fingerprint sensor as well as the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The company’s EMUI interface will run on top of the stock Android OS.
