A new Android phone from Huawei, powered by Kirin 960, could outdo the iPhone 7 in terms of multi core performance.
Apple and Android
Apple’s phones always seem to be lagging on paper; so Android sellers usually attempt the strategy of focusing on the specifications and the perceived power of Apple phones. It seems to be an easy target, as the iPhone does not run on the octa core processor even today, and nor does it have clock speeds equal to several Android devices.
Fast, Efficient and Savvy
However, all iPhone users know that Apple’s phones are all about the efficiency and are faster and more powerful than all the other phones in the market, though the specs appear modest when seen on paper.
Stripping the Title
However, all this might be about to change and Apple phones could be stripped of their title quite soon. When attempting to decide which smartphone is more powerful, there are tests conducted in real world as well as some benchmark tests on the performance. It has to be said that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are unequalled in this regard.
Performance Tests – Real World
In terms of performance in real world conditions, Apple’s latest phones are unpatrolled. For a short time, the Note 7 from Samsung was considered to be a strong contender for the iPhones. However, it has proved to be a big embarrassment for Samsung, but that is another story.
Benchmark Tests
As far as benchmark tests are concerned, the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus stand tall among the competition. Even the new Pixel phones from Google cannot come near Apple’s latest phones. For instance, while using the An TuTu benchmark software the Google Pixel phones have scored 1580 in case of single core tests and 4100 in multi score tests. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus have scored 3430 in the single core test and 5600 in the multi core tests.
iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
Even if we consider the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus, they are the fastest phones of this year and remain the fastest ones even after a year of release. The 6s is considered faster than many of the premium Android phones, as far as speed tests in real world are concerned.
Will the iPhone 7 continue the Run?
However, it seems that the iPhone 7 may not continue the same run for Apple, as the next gen chip for Android phones are faster according to some vendors. Huawei has recently unveiled the Kirin 960 processor, offering greater efficiency. An unreleased phone from Huawei is being powered by this new chipset. In a speed test for real world efficiency, it was seen that the Kirin chip could open 13 out of 14 of the most popular applications in China, more quickly when compared to the iPhone 7. Though the iPhone 7 that is powered by Apple A10 scores better in single core performances, the Kirin 960 outperforms the Apple phones in the multi core aspects.
