iPhone 17 Air Processor Leaked Ahead of Launch

iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17 Air, has been in the news for some time now.

The smartphone is reported to take the place of the Plus variant in the previous lineups. This is because the Plus variant has been the least-selling smartphone in the past.

A new leak now hints at the processor that will be used in the iPhone 17 Air. As usual, the handset will house the brand’s chipset. However, the report reveals a contradiction to what we have so far.

A19 Pro Processor

Earlier reports indicated that the iPhone 17 Air will house the same A19 processor as the base variant, the iPhone 17. However, the new report from China claims that the Air variant will be powered by an A19 Pro processor like the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, although there will be one difference.

The A19 Pro processor in the 17 Air will have one less core in its GPU when compared to the processor in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. While the GPU in the Air variant will have five cores, the GPU in the Pro and Pro Max will feature six cores.

Other Expected Specs

The key highlight of the 17 Air is its slim profile with a thickness of 5.65 mm to 5.7 mm. It will also be the tallest smartphone in the series. The handset will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz like the top-end variants in the lineup. It will have only one 48 MP camera on the back.

The smartphone will come with the brand’s in-house modem under its hood. It will also offer Wi-Fi 7 connectivity using its Wi-Fi chip, as well as support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Apple is known to launch its flagships in September every year. The iPhone 17 lineup is likely to be no different and is anticipated to break cover on the 9th of September this year.
