Leaked: ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe to Come with a Faster Snapdragon 821

ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe was recently unveiled by the Taiwanese OEM as the high-end version of the trio of phones to be released by the company later this year.

While the specs and features of these three phones had already been highlighted, the latest leaks reveal that some markets will be receiving a variant powered by a faster processor. Some earlier rumors had even indicated that the phone will feature a Snapdragon 823 SoC, but as it seems, this will not be the case. Instead, we may have a variant that is powered by a Snapdragon 821, which is still faster than the Snapdragon 820 used on most flagship handsets in the Android ecosystem.

Speaking of the Snapdragon 820 SoC, this chipset has 4 cores that are clocked at a speed of 2.15GHz, but for the improved Snapdragon 821, you get a clock speed of 2.3GHz, which is faster than the current flagship chipset. In addition, you will still be getting what ASUS terms as desktop-grade Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and a massive RAM of 6GB. This is huge for a phone and in fact, it may be the first to feature this chipset, but it will depend on the release date of the phone.

As for the onboard storage, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be able to carry up to 256GB, which is something new in the handset industry. There are also rumors that Samsung Galaxy Note 6, iPhone 7 Plus and Surface Phone might also come in with huge onboard storage options like what the ZenFone 3 Deluxe has to offer. Other storage options include the base model 64GB and the mid-variant 128GB, but all models have room for microSD cards of up to 128GB.

ASUS will be looking to take photography to the next level with the release of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. The phone has a rear snapper of 23MP that features OIS, laser autofocus, and dual-LED flash. The back of the phone also has a fingerprint scanner. The front part steps down the megapixel count to 8MP, but the quality it still in there. Just like many 2016 flagships, the phone will use USB Type-C connectivity instead of microUSB and it will be powered by a 3000mAh battery unit.
