We only have hours left before the HTC U11 Plus is finally unveiled. The phone has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now and as usual, clearer details are showing up just as the launch event approaches.
Thanks to none other than Evan Blass and the multitude of followers the leakster has, we now have the clearest images of the HTC U11 Plus and it’s a gorgeous piece of hardware, if you ask me. HTC hasn’t had the best of times in the smartphone market and perhaps it’s the reason the Taiwanese company sold its entire Google Pixel team to the search giant. But with the U11 Plus, there’s no doubt that the company will grab people’s attention.
Samsung set the standards on another level with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8. The leaked HTC U11 Plus images show that the phone is nothing close to Sammy’s creations, but looking at what the company has given us in the past, the U11 Plus is way better.
The leaked model shows off the Translucent Black color variant and it leaves nothing to the imagination. The edges are beautifully curved, but the massive 18:9 display screen has sharp corners. The fingerprint scanner has moved to the back, in the same position as the Pixels, while the camera takes the same position as the HTC U11 alongside a dual-tone LED flash.
Previous reports have suggested that the HTC U11 Plus will keep most of the hardware specs of the standard U11. These include the Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage, but the battery capacity is expected to go beyond the 3000mAh unit used on the U11. We don’t have any details of the camera, but it’s possible HTC might stick with the same unit used on the U11. Android Oreo will run the show out of the box.
As noted, we only have hours before the HTC U11 Plus is unveiled so it shouldn’t be long before we get the full details, including the price and availability details.
