The LG G3 Marshmallow update on Telus was earlier this week eliminated from the list of devices to get the new software, with the company giving no other date for the expected roll out.
There is, however, some good news coming over from Canada pointing towards a new release date for the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. The newly released schedule now sets the date of this update to March 29.
This means users are just about 10 days away from seeing this update come to their devices. However, given the uncertainty that Telus has been showing towards rolling out this update, don’t be surprised to see another date come into play.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow software update coming on March 25
Speaking of changes in dates, Telus also announced that those using last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5 can expect to start receiving the new OS as from March 25. This again represents another change in dates for the Canadian telecom carrier, something that only backs the earlier suggestion that the LG G3 Marshmallow release date could also be changed.
Other phones that will see their Android Marshmallow release dates shift include last year’s Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and its counterpart the Galaxy S6 Edge+. While the former will start receiving the updates beginning early next month, the latter is scheduled to start receiving the same updates as from March 26, a day after the Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow upgrade goes live.
There is also some good news for those using Motorola’s Moto X Play on the same network as the 5.5-inch phablet is expected to start receiving the Marshmallow update on April 21. On the other hand, the newly added Moto E and Moto G (1st Gen) will start receiving the Marshmallow update somewhere between next Tuesday and April 7.
For those using Google’s Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and the older Nexus 5, which already have the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow; you can start getting ready for the monthly security updates for the month of April as from Monday 4th.
Telus has not changed the earlier schedule for releasing Samsung Galaxy S6 Marshmallow update, which was April 13. However, for those using the older Samsung Galaxy S5, there is some bad news for you as the company has not mentioned any specific date of when this device will receive the Marshmallow update. But with the Galaxy S5 listed to be among the devices to receive this OS, it might follow the Galaxy S6 Marshmallow update later in the month of April.
