LG V20 is Now Official for Indian Consumers

LG V20 made history when it became the first smartphone to come preinstalled with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Launched in early September, the handset beat the Google Pixel and Pixel XL to the crown by over two weeks following its official launch in South Korea towards the end of the same month. On the contrary, the Pixel phones came in with a more advanced version of Android 7.1 Nougat, but this did not change anything regarding this record, especially since Google is known to favor its devices when it comes to first software rollouts.

As noted, the LG V20 started selling in its home country towards the end of September, but it took it up to the end of October to hit major markets around the world, including the U.S. The phone was praised for being the best alternative to the deceased Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and in fact, it was reported that the company sold millions of units in the first few days following its official release. Well, it seems this success is not about to stop anytime soon as the South Korean tech giant is now pushing the LG V20 to the Indian market.

In case you didn’t know, the LG V20 is the successor to last year’s LG V10, a phone that took the world by storm thanks to its impressive specs and features, including a secondary ticker display alongside a dual-lens selfie camera. Well, this year’s V20 keeps the secondary ticker, but the dual-lens camera setup shifts from the front to the back of the phone, just like the LG G5.

The screen size remains at 5.7 inches with a QHD resolution, but LG boasts the fact that the V20 is the only smartphone with support for Quad DAC audio capabilities. As for the rest of the specs, you get a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB RAM alongside 64GB of expandable storage. The dual-lens camera has a 16MP sensor supported by an 8MP wide-angle lens whereas the front snapper houses a 5MP lens.

Like other LG flagships, you get a removable battery unit of 3200mAh with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. There are three color variants of Pink, Silver and Titan and all are priced at Rs. 54,999 or about $810.
