Limited Time Offer: Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Available for Less Than $100

Lumia 640 XL

Microsoft came out with the Lumia 640 XL smartphone more than a year ago in April 2015.

Launched at a price of $150, the phone offered an easy access to the world of Windows smartphones. Even though Windows smartphones have not managed to take the market by storm, they continue to offer a real alternative for those who do not like both android and iOS platforms. The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is now available at a whopping discount of $50 to bring down the price below $100. However, this discount is available only for a limited time.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL comes with a huge 5.7-inch screen with 720p resolution. This may result in a pixel density of just 259 PPI, but the overwhelming screen real estate available for a fraction of the price makes up for the lack of pixel density. The price of $100 for a phone with decent resolution in the display department looks like a great value for money package. The equivalent high-end device with a 5.7-inch screen would retail for around $700.

The Qualcomm snapdragon 400 range of processors provide a decent performance, but it is hardly required given that the Windows 8.1 operating system is highly optimized unlike android phones of the past. However, it is highly unlikely that Windows will offer updates to the device going forward. The quad core 1.2 GHz processor is coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The phone has 8 GB of internal storage while users can add up to 256 GB microSD cards.

The camera remains as one of the standout elements of the phone considering its price range. Offering the Carl Zeiss optics on the 13-megapixel camera, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL manages to enhance every picture through its brilliant since which is just a f/3. The camera is capable of only 1080p videos, which is a standard in this price point. There is a front facing five-megapixel camera with equal capabilities when it comes to video recording. The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL may not provide fast charging capabilities, but it comes with a 3000 mAh battery which can last for a day.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is quite well-equipped in terms of connectivity with elements like Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, and a 3.5 mm jack. The $50 discount is official from Microsoft, but it is possible to get the device for around $75.
