Limited: Xiaomi Mi MIX with 18K Gold Rims’ Price Drops by $210 as Talk of Mi MIX 2 Heats up

Xiaomi Mi MIX

A few days ago, details about the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 started emerging, with claims that the company is looking at debuting a phone with much thinner bezels and a larger screen-to-body ratio compared to the original model.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX surprised the world with its near bezel-less design that has three of the four sides of the phone having completely no bezel. You only find it on the bottom end, where a front-facing camera has also been housed. Even though the release of the Mi MIX 2 is expected to happen towards the end of this year, the price of the current model has already started seeing discounts.

Apparently, the high-end variant of the Xiaomi Mi MIX has now dropped its price tag by up to $100, now selling for $699 instead of the usual $910. This is great news for those who were looking to get their hands on this model that features 18K gold rims around the main camera as well as the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. In addition to this special design material, this model also packs top-of-the-table hardware specs as compared to the base model.

Under the hood, the 18K gold rims variant has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC that is paired with a huge 6GB RAM. For storage, the $699 price tag gets you a massive 256GB unit, but there’s no room for expanding it via a microSD card like other Xiaomi devices. The rest of the specs remain unchanged, which include a massive 6.4-inch LCD display screen with a 1080 x 2040 pixels resolution and 363ppi pixel density.

The camera on the back has a 16MP lens with f/2.0 aperture, EIS, PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. As for the front, you only get a 5MP sensor. To keep the Xiaomi Mi MIX alive is a huge 4400mAh battery that can be fast charged via a USB-C port thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Even though you still have to deal with Android Marshmallow, there’s a planned upgrade to Android Nougat, but the date is not yet confirmed.

Be warned that this promotion is not here forever, rather, the retailer says that it will end on March 15, which is Wednesday next week. So, hurry up while it still lasts!
